15th June | 7th June 2008 Wild Geese Parachute Jump Better late than never, my very fearless other half and Julie (again fearless or just mad) had that light blub moment and signed up for a parachute jump with the Wild Geese SkyDive. Both landed and both can't wait to get back up and do it all again.

Who am I...................

here lies the answer

By day, I graft in an engineering consultancy and by night I take off the glasses, slick back the hair, roll up the sleeves and moonlight as…

Don Johnson in Miami Vice.  Kidding.  Actually as a Photographer, Designer and person of all things graphicy.

Based in Northern Ireland, for the past 9 years I have been honing and developing my forte in graphic and design  - ranging from 3D modelling, photoshop, illustrator to Indesign publications.

Now that the niceties are out of the way , please feel free to have a poke around the site (it’s here for your viewing pleasure) and have a look at what I’ve been up to.  If you fancy getting your paws on any larger images, take a note of the reference code and send me an email and I’ll be happy to pass the image on – yes it really is as easy as that.   Alternatively, if you want to have a chat about a) bar stool philosophy, b) just why Joanie loves Chacie was the number one debut show in Korea  or c) just what I can do for you, just give me a shout (not literally of course, my hearing aids on the blink, I may not hear you)

Ps.  I know your still thinking about Joanie and Chacie

UPDATE: NIKON D2Hs, NIKON D200, SkaterSIGMA 200 F2.8, 300 VR2 NIKOR

read on...... Back in the day, like most people, I used a fixed lens camera until I bought my first DSLR camera, the Nikon SkaterD70.   After emptying the piggy bank I upgraded to the Nikon D200, which is what I currently use.  For a while I had the more expensive D2X in mind but after a lengthy deliberation which included a few beers and a few strategically placed tuts from my financeé, I decided against it - any extra technology and function gained could well have been overkill and proved counterproductive.

I don’t have favourites but....................

I can regularly be found going for long walks and using the DX  Nikon 18-70 but have been known to use the 70-300 and a fixed 400mm lens for sports photography and when its time to flash its time to whip out a Nikon Speedlight and a Sigma 500 flash.

I also do a great sideline in knock knock jokes and interesting tit bits, so here we go…I used to use Microdrives but they had a tendency to be pretty slow so I shopped around and got 2 new Ultra !! and an Ultra !!!, 2 and 4GB which have worked a treat.

You can relax now, you’ve made it to the end of this section,  and now you know what I lug around when I’m out taking that million dollar shot, all in a handy Lowpro Bag.

superfreakz....

check out the superfreakz gallery

SkaterYou can find a section within the gallery area dedicated to the photographs that I have captured over the past few months of a local upcoming band called Superfreakz. Within the last year, Superfreakz have proven their positive development by performing live sessions for radio, graced festival stages including Tennant’s Vital 06, and supported “The Twang”. Superfreakz self produced debut album “Getting Me Off” has recently been completed and new material is coming thick and fast. Superfreakz have great fun playing live and have received immense feedback and support from audiences to date.

Rory McConnel - BBC Radio One .........

With 'Gettin Me Off' Superfreakz have produced an album of pop melodies the Killers would be jealous of. Not scared of a catchy chorus or a bit of spanish guitar when required, here at last is a band who have thought through the sound they want to create, and have gone about achieving it in a way that some festival headliners haven't achieved yet"

publications for the public. Water matters - Have your say!

Over the past few months I have been part of a team that prepared 5 of the 8 RBD publications for local authorities in the North and South of Ireland.

Water Matters “Have your say” is the summary of the significant issues identified, to date, in each River Basin District.  Each also outlines the current measures for dealing with the issues.  A clear understanding of objectives, issues and measures is essential because these will determine that will be incorporated into the first River Basin Management Plans, which will run from 2009-2015.

A local printing comapny have been involved in the production of 20,000 + booklets and 30,000+ leaflets for this job. GPS Colour Graphics Ltd has taken the initiative to enabling customers to make their publications carbon neutral. This involves calculating the emissions involved in the manufacturing and shipping of the paper (the printing process is carbon neutral) and managing the process of offsetting these emissions. read more at GPSColour.co.uk
